Spitting hissers?

Androidraptor Jul 13, 2007 09:35 PM

About a week ago, one of my friends was holding one of my hissers, and he spit out what appeared to be a drop of water on her hand! She was a bit freaked out, to say the least. I wasn't, because Sid (my now dead hisser) was old and pretty immobile when I got him. So immobile that I had to give him water in the palm of my hand, and occasionally after he was done drinking he would spit a few drops out. I told my friend that I think the other one might have spit on her because he drank too much water (I had misted the tank to give them water about a minute before), but I'm not certain if that's the real reason. Any info, guys?

It is somewhat normal for hissers to spit water when handled. It is strange because it appears to be very clean water visually. They don't always do it but it is common.
