I have discoids...they are good feeders but not active enough and don't eat enough. What is a very active large roach species? I'm considering the tesselated roach...how does the temperment of this species compare?

I meant to say "Peppered Roach", not tesselated.
That depends. What are you looking for? A feeder roach or a pet roach? What do you mean by not eating enough?
Blaberus discoidalis is actually very active if you keep them warm and keep them in a naturalistic set-up.
