A Question for the True Soft Shell Turtle Experts???

Grasshopper Oct 13, 2003 08:53 AM

I am searching for information on Rafetus swinhoei the Giant Softshell Turtle from Asia. I was told that they grow larger than the Alligator Snapping Turtle and are in fact the largest Freshwater turtle in the world. The only Zoo that I know for a fact has one is the Shanghai Zoo. The following are my questions: 1) Does anyone have any pictures of this turtle. 2) Do any other Zoos have this turtle. 3) What is the range in which they are located.

Thank you for your help!!!

Not an answer, but if it's bigger than Chitra chitra I'd LOVE to see a picture of one. Big softshells rock.

Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?
