I have 1 female and 5 male hissers, as well as 5 nymphs. I got the m from my entomology professor and he said the female is gravid. How exactly can one tell? I've worked with hissers at work, but there's only one female in the colony that I never really looked at. Are they just really fat? This one seems quite tubby and has been sitting in a cardboard tube since I got her 2 days ago. I know she's alive, as she moves slightly when I poke her. Are females typically like this when gravid?
