Identification please

I imagine this is some type of dragonfly larvae, but I dont really know for sure. They were caught 06/05/04 in Kansas City, KS, in a flooded field. Ive probly got about 20 of them various sizes. The ones shown here are about 1.5 inches long. They are pretty quick swimmers and those little legs are always moving.

Ok, so its not a dragonfly larvae, I believe its called an amphipod, if anyone knows more, please reply.

This animal is some kind of fairy shrimp. Man, I was way off at the start.
