Need ID on a flying clicking insect.

I've posted this in the moths/butterly forums because I do not know what it is.

Sorry, I have no photo of it because the damn thing is too fast! It has been annoying me for over a week now and I can't seem to figure out just what it is. It looks oval/circular shaped and about the size of a ping pong ball when its wings are moving. It looks almost yellowish in color, but I can't be sure because of the speed it moves. The one thing that I can tell you for sure is that it makes rapid clicking sounds everytime it flies around. It sounds as if someone is clicking a pen very very rapidly and very loudly. I live in Edmonton, ALberta, Canada if that helps anyone. Can someone please help me identify this?

Can you describe it further... Color when at rest, longer than it is wide, wider than it is long???? Are the leggs thin and long, or fat and short? Anything else.....
