What is cat licensing? I know that I am only allowed to have two furry pets in my apartment, but nothing else...

In North Carolina where I live you have to have a license for any cat or dog that you own. For a cat that is not spayed or neutered it is $14 a year and for one that is its $7 a year. If you get caught with an animal that is not licensed you can be fined. I know that the regulations vary depending on what area of the state that you live in.

In this state, only dogs have to have rabies and licensure. Cats do not. Not sure why either have to be, actually. Can see the rabies but not sure why they need licenses. They don't drive and can't vote
