Cats Vote for Staying at Home

PHWildCat Feb 14, 2005 06:41 PM

Ok, I am on a roll, folks. Boards are too quiet and I want some action. So put your votes in, what do you do with your pets when you travel? I rarely travel, with this number of pets it doesn't work to well, plus I just plain don't like it. Recently however my job, insisted that I go to a conference out of state for 3 days. I had a good friend (very good and trusted friend) who offered (I didn't say she was bright...teehee) to come and take care of them twice a day every day. She did and all was fine. All had food, water, some one they and I trusted and best of all, they were in their own home. I think their vote is for staying home

At mom's we take Boots and Lizzy to a boarder. They love it there. Crash, Tucker we always left home with some one coming to take care of them. But one of them was naughty and peed on the floor while we where gone so now if we go on vacation they will all have to be boarded.

Two years ago, I was in the hospital for over a week but luckily, had Pam's family living with me and they took care of the cats for me. They even took Samantha to the hospital to visit me.

But if I'm ever faced with that decision, I think that I would prefer for somebody to come in a couple of times a day to feed, water them and make sure that all is going OK. My niece, Amber, lives fairly close to me and I would probably ask her for help because she knows my cats and loves them since she's lived here with me before. Simba, I would probably have to keep separate from the others since he likes to stalk. I'd ask Amber to take him to her place. Simba is her favorite and would do that in a minute. But if I had to board them, I would. I'm sure that they'd be alright either way, just maybe more comfortable at home in familiar surroundings.
