Help! Accidently Stepped On Paw!!

jordan51098 Feb 17, 2005 01:20 PM

My kitten was spayed and declawed about 7 days ago. A little while ago I accidently stepped on one of her declawed paws. When I finally got her to come to me, I could see that her paw was a little sore and though not bleeding, it had a tiny bit of blood. I put some neosporin on the area, but wanted some input on anything else I could do. I feel so bad! Has anyone else had this happen and what did you do? Ironically, I lectured my husband and kids on being careful about not stepping on her paws and I go a do it!! Thanks In Advance!

Hi,
Sorry to hear your kitten's foot is hurt. The neosproin was a good idea. I would call the vet's office in the morning. The office will be able to give you more advice on what to watch for. They may want to see the kitten to make sure nothing is damaged.
Let us know how everything is going.

I would not be overly concerned though as usually sutures or glue start disolving in 7-10 days. Do keep an eye on her though and let us know how she is doing. Don't feel to badly, we all step on the pets at least once. They are so small
