How Long Does Canned Cat Food Stay Good In Refrigerator??

jordan51098 Feb 18, 2005 05:27 PM

I just wanted to know. I like to give our kitten canned cat food on special occasions, however, I hate wasting a whole can. How long does canned cat food stay good in the fridge~a week or more? Thought I'd ask! Thanks

I am not really sure on that one. With 18 cats there is none left to put in there. Now my dog only gets 1/2 can a day and the other half goes in the fridge but it is only until the next day. I would guess treat it like meats, if you would eat the meat after a week then the kitten food should be ok as long as it is either in a sealed container or has one of those plastic cover thingy's on it.

I agree with Jaime, 3 or 4 days at the max. Why not just feed her the whole can per day, perhaps 1/3 each meal, morning, noon and night or as much as she will eat of that can per day? Much better for her than the dry stuff.

Also, as Jaime says, come join us on the Kitten Board and tell us about your first kitten. Our hostie is getting antsy, waiting to hear about how we got our first kitten. We'd love to hear about your kitty.
