I know this one will mark me as a newbie, but I haven't quite figured it out: What do the numbers (2.1, 0.0.3, 1.4, etc.) in front of the name of a herp species refer to? I've seen them on some breeders' pages and a few users' signatures, and I'd imagine the numbers refer to the generation in some way but I haven't exactly figured it out. If anyone could explain the specifics to me, that would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

A. Fox

Hey,

Most of us had to ask that question at one time or another...
Here's the answer:

It refers to the number of animals in a group of a given gender.
It goes males.females.unknown

So 3.2 would be 3 males and 2 females
4.1.5 would be 4 males, a female, and 5 animals of undetermined gender

Good luck. Duffy

Thank you, Duffy. That wasn't what I thought it was!
