Kitty loves the milkman

gocatgo Nov 16, 2005 08:33 PM

A cop was walking past a restaurant when he heard someone scream - "No John, not the gun!" He ran inside and and saw a doctor, a lawyer, a milkman, and a dead body on the floor. He promptly walked over to the milkman and arrested him. He didn't witness the shooting and there was no apparent evidence to prove who shot the person and no one told him who the killer was.

How did the policeman instantly know it was the milkman?

The doctor and the Lawyer weren't male so the milkman had to be John since he was the only male in the room.

Er...are there still milkmen these days? And speaking of which, who else remembers the milk being delivered and in glass bottles with a separate "bump" at the top for the cream?

Oh my, I didn't even think of that. Yes, I remember when milkmen used to deliver the milk and the separate bump in the glass bottles for the cream. I can still see our milk truck delivering milk in the 40s. The milk bottles were packed in ice pieces and we would beg ice from the milkman when we were small kids. It was great to be able to have a hunk of ice to suck on in the hot summer! Boy, that brought back memories!

We have a farm that delivers milk up here in Maine, but no bump for the cream. They have the best Milk. And it does come in a glass bottle. Their chocolate milk is so yummy. I tried the blueberry milk way to sweet. I haven't tried the coffee flavored since I don't like coffee. And I think they have orange flavored that I haven't tried yet.

Are you talking about the Watkins man for tea? I remember a Watkins man. And a Stanley man. No bread or ice though that I can remember. I also recall a milk wagon, which was a wagon filled with bottles of milk tucked in ice, and was pulled by a horse or two.
