Something wrong. Need help!

rugha Oct 13, 2003 10:59 AM

This is my first time here and I really need some advice.

I have a beautiful Grey Band that now has something mysteriously wrong. When I picked it up the other day it's body was limp, like it was dead. I can hold it near it's head and it's body hangs limp. She is full grown and has always been a hearty eater. She is the most docile snake I have ever had.

Also about 2 inches down from her head there is noticable bump. The bump is boney, and not due to something in her skin. Her ribs around that area feel weird too. She has feeling in her tail and moves when I put her down. But when holding her she lacks rigidness and her body from the head down appears much to limp. I can lay her upside down and it may take a few miutes for her to right herself.

Also, my friend had a Black Mexican King that had very similar symptoms, almost like it's neck was broken and it eventually died.

Please help.

Thanks

WJ Long

I'd be off to the vet ASAP. (A good herp vet...not a standard one.)

I hope it all works out.
