new cat quiz

gonzokat Nov 27, 2005 08:10 PM

I know it wasn't my turn to make a quiz, but I have 4 ready to go so I am posting one anyway. Same rule - one statement is false.

Julie

1. Petting a cat that purrs can lower a person’s blood pressure.

2. There is no such thing as a hypoallergenic cat.

3. The quietest cat breeds are generally those with heavy builds.

4. The Balinese, Oriental Short Hair, and Tonkinese were all developed partially from the Siamese.

5. A Maine Coon won the first major cat show in North America in 1895.

6. All cats have the ability to purr.

7. A way to share affection with your cat is to look into its eyes and slowly blink.

8. Most cats have 24 whiskers divided between the nose in 4 rows.

9. All cats male and female can spray.

10. A cat is pregnant for about 58-65 days. This is roughly two months.

Good ones, Julie. I think that #6 might be the false one. Seems like I read somewhere that only domestic cats can purr.

Since I would have picked 6 then 3 and those are already picked I'll go with number one! I don't think the cat has to be purring to lower blood pressure. I think a person can just pet the cat or dog for that matter.

Actually per animal planet, Cheetahs are the only large cats that purr. None of the others do.
