All that white you see is oysters.A lot of them gather in one place and they call them oyster beds. You can shuck a oyster and put the empty shells back in the beds and new oysters will form on the empty shells.
I have eaten oysters raw but i love them on a half shell or fried. Now thats good eaten.

Well at the risk of sounding like somebody who was born, raised and still lives in Iowa, I'll have to admit that I don't know anything about oyster beds. I thought that oysters (paula paula paula paula paula paula paula ....sorry, this is Paula practicing her typing) were formed in the ocean. So are you saying, Lou, that you shuck an oyster, toss it back in the bed and a new oyster grows? How does it do that?
BTW, we here in Iowa don't have any oceans. And I love oysters, especially in oyster dressing.

Four or five may grow off of one half shell.I know the shell is calcium and i would have to read up on them to tell you how it works.I'll see what i can find out.
