Not sure what to do.

Two of my students (siblings) have three kittens. They can't find homes for the kittens so the mom put them out in the barn. I know they won't be taken care of or spayed/neutered.
I can't afford to take them. I have called everyone I know to see if they know of any one looking for kitten.
Now what?

You could suggest to bring them to the SPCA - they'll be cared for by a vet, neutered/spaid (sp?) and kittens never last long before they're adopted!!!
The little ones have a much better, and safer, chance of surviving and having happy lives going to the SPCA then they do fending for themselves in a barn!

You mention they can't find homes, indicating they want to... I know PetSmart and some of the pet stores help sell cats (they keep them on the premisis so folks can see them). See if one of the pet stores will take the kittens and try to help sell. Or... My vet's office has kittens for sale all the time. They have them in a large tiered cage and they sell them fast... Check petstores and vets to help.

Jamie,
If you have talked to them about helping them find homes and they just want to keep them in the barn of course we all know this is not the best long life for any kitten/cat. Just my thought of course you know kittens are courious and could just wander off into......lets say Jamies hands and like Tammy spoke of in Petco these adoptions that happen there are not put on by the store they are actually no kill rescue groups. So if you check with the one that shows in you're area I would bet they would take them off you're hands especially with the idea of kittens being barn cats.

I volunteer with a group that works out of Petco every sunday. The one I'm with now does strickly canine but the last group I was with also did cats which they were allowed to use the Petco site/kennels to keep them for viewing and potential adopters though out the weeks. Petco does this not only to help unwanted animals get homes but of course when someone adopts they obvioulsy need supplies for the new family member so its a win/win for both party's.

And with this family maybe if you contact the rescue group whether its Petco or Petfinder for local groups in you're area. I would set up the idea a make sure you have a group lined up willing to take the kittens and them present the idea to the family reassuring them they will get loving long term homes they are entitled to. Perhaps they will give them up.
Some groups even offer to spay and neuter the adults to stop the cycle.

Just an idea,
Good Luck

Aww, Jaime, that's so sad..I don't know what you can do about it..sighhhhhhhhhhhhh..if they would at least get them spayed/ neutered, the problem wouldn't be on going..

Is there a no kill shelter somewhere? What about running an ad in the paper offering them for sale? GLOWS for the little babys to get new and good homes!!!
