British Blue or Chartreux

playmatekozmo Oct 23, 2006 12:17 PM

I took in a stray cat over two years ago now. She was given the ok by the vet but he was no real help on finding out what breed she is. The two breeds I've found she closest remsembles are a british blue shorthair and a chartreux. Any cat people out there have any tips for me to help distinguish which, if either, she is?

Also, if anyone can tell me how to put a picture in a post I have pics of her as well.

Sorry I can't help you identify your cats breed, but I can help with the photo...

Go to the photo gallery, you will find a link at the top of the page. Just follow the directions for uploading your pictures to the gallery. Once they are there you will find a list of your available pictures at the bottom of this form. Type your post and select your picture...good luck

Here's a picture of Fritz. I know the picture is in grayscale but her coat is the same color as either a british blue or a chartreux. Other than that I cannot distinguish which breed she's more likely to be.

He's a beauty. I am sorry I don't know enough about the breeds to help distinguish him!

Hi,

She has the blue color, but doesn't look like a British Blue or Chartreau to me. I think she is a blue domestic shorthair. She is beautiful, though!

He is a beauty! He definetely belongs to the breed "Spoilus Bratus Cattus" which all cats should belong to. I really don't know that much about the Chartreaux or British blue, as we are owned by a Maine Coon and NFC.

I am sorry, I can't help distinguish, but if you go to the "breed" boards at the bottom of the main page and post your pic there, they may be able to help. They have sections for each breed.
