Gabby and Urinating

JaimeMarie Nov 23, 2006 06:38 AM

I am not to worried but thought I would ask. Is it normal for a cat to urinate three times in a ten hr period?

It doesn't sound like anything unusual to me. However, I would keep a watch on Gabby. If she seems to have problems or urinates more often than that in a short time, I would call the vet the next day to be sure. In the meantime, I wouldn't worry too much.
Hope you and your family have a nice Thanksgiving!

Hi Jaime,

I don't think this is anything to worry about. If you notice Gabby drinking a lot of water or not eating normally, you might consider a vet check, though. I know Gabby was recently hospitalized, so that is a concern, but I also know that she has been doing well since then.

Take care, and try not to worry

Thanks Ellen and Kit,
Well now she has nice soft stool this morning. Hopefully it's just from traveling and maybe getting some of the "old" food.

Jaime,
This doesn't sound like excessive urination to me, but like Kit said, keep an eye on her. What you don't want to see is straining in the litter box for small amounts of urine.
