Jail time

The above is a story out of NE Ohio, Concord Township. A man who killed and maimed several kittens and a dog is going to jail for it.

This is the same township where a little over a year ago a woman made national news when she dumped 42 kittens in a metro park. (they were later saved) As part of her sentence, a different judge ordered her to spend a night out in the same woods with no light, no food, only the clothes on her back. It was ten degrees that night.

The judge in the first case is known for his unusual sentences. (a guy who ran from police had to run a 5K; a pair of teenagers who tore up a church display had to parade through the village of Fairport Harbor dressed as Mary and Joesph complete with donkey and doll baby)

Seeing this case, this time with a more mainstream judge, makes me think they get it, they really get it. He is also banned from having another animal during his lifetime.

I'm so glad they are taking it seriously!

This court made national news again today for another unusual, and very public, sentence in an animal abuse case. It's good to see action taken when so many cases are swept under the rug.

You know, we have a sister site - PetPress.net where you can link any pet related news or feature items that you come across. I've posted the link below.

Just click on the add item (about 1/4 of the way down the page), just login using the same login as for these boards, fill in the form and it will be uploaded, usually within 24 hours.

Did not know that - Thanks!

It just seems like i hear so many stories of animal abuse where no action is taken - I always feel a little better when I see a story where it was taken seriously.
