One Year

cyclopsgrl Feb 10, 2007 02:06 PM

Stanley just passed his one year anniversary since being diagnosed with brain swelling. He was given 4-6 months to live. He has far exceeded that and, with low cost, low dose steroids, has been perfectly normal for months now. Vet says the longer he goes before having a reoccurrence, the better it looks. So far, no dizziness from the swelling or side effects from the steroids... We'd recalculated his dosage a few months ago when he did have side effects from a higher dose of steroids and so far, so good on all fronts.

I know you all know this already, but I had to share his one year anniversary!

Thank you everyone! I feel very fortunate he continues to beat the odds, while maintaining a "normal" life...
