Veiled Chameleon Cage

IDreamMyLifeAway Oct 13, 2003 02:38 PM

I posted a few months ago about owning a chameleon. Well last Saturday I finally did purchase one. Hes a little baby one and hes doing fine. Currently hes in a 10 gallon cage so I can keep an eye on him until he gets bigger but my question is, what size cage does an adult female veiled chameleon need? How many feet of space?

and also, I wanted to know if I could find any information regarding his coloring I read it had a lot to do with his moods and the temperture and so far that seems to be very true with mine but does anyone know anymore about this?

thanks again

Hi-

You can keep a baby veiled in a 10 gallon tank up to 3 months of age, after that they need an all screen cage. Do you know the age of the veiled, most shops/breeders will not sell them under 3 months of age! An adult female will need minimum of a 18"Lx18"Wx36"H all screen cage. Yes the color of the chameleon represents its mood. Hope this helps!
