This is a very blurry picture. I couldn't get her to stay still for me.

Did the vet reschedule Friday's biopsy when they cancelled it? Hope the vet can see it again soon so you can get some answers on how to treat it.

Tammy
No she didn't. The vet tech said she had to talk to the vet to see when her schedule was open. I can't do it Tuesday. So I'm hoping Wednesday or Thursday. If they can't do it this week, I'll call my vet in Naples and see if the doctor there can do it. Or if she is Norway maybe she can do it there earlier in the week.

Even with a blurry picture, it reminds me of an infected claw wound. KitKat could describe it better, but sometimes a claw wound will close up, fester inside and finally burst outward with a mix of pus, dead tissue and granduar regrowth. I've seen one in a jowl break outward repeatedly, but that poor tom was untreated. Hmmm....didn't you ask your vet to look for a piece of claw stuck in the chin before?
Ask your vet about spider bites. We have brown recluse spiders here which cause the surrounding tissue to fester and die off. I doubt thats the cause here - the only time I saw one up close and personal, it swelled like a softball on a horse's neck, burst and the hole was about the size of a football. But maybe there is another type of spider local to your area? Something irritating but less venomous?
Also once had a foster kitty who was infested with a bot fly that was only known to infest cattle. My vet sent it off to the vet school at OSU. Could it be something unexpected?
Annie had a couple nasty feline acne spots, but they looked like typical zits on any 13 year old kid - nothing this ugly.
We're sending MEGA GLOWS you're way until the biopsy is done.
Purrs,
Elizabeth
Thanks Elizabeth. I wish I could get a better picture but she is being a brat tonight. Last night she was sleeping on her back and I could have gotten a great picture. Tonight she refuses.
This time it looks so different than the last three times. Before it just looked like a slit. This time it is gross.
BTW I hate this camera. I could have gotten a great shot and the stupid thing came out so blurry. I wish I had a memory stick for my camera.

It is clearer -- poor baby. I hope she is leaving it alone and not irritating it... If the vet has seen it more than once and given antibiotics, she must be leaning towards infection of some sort by the way it looks... But, the vet is apparently not pin-pointing the cause... As Elizabeth said, it could be something imbedded... Ingrown hair/whisker/piece of claw/thorn...? Hoping since this is the third or more time at the vet, the vet will look at it closely, biopsy, etc., rather than round three of antibiotics. Maybe even an Xray will show if something is in there? At this point I am sure the vet will investigate further...

Tammy
Thanks Tammy,
This is the fourth time. Two times to vet up here and once to vet in Naples. The last time it happened I brought her to the vet up here. She said if it happened again she wanted to do a biopsy. So I schedule one for Monday and they canceled. So I guess if they don't reschedule for this week. I'll see if I can get her into the vet at home.

Hi Jaime,
From the pictures, it looks like some kind of wound to me, possibly complicated by a foreign body. The area needs to be explored while Crash is under anesthesia.
PHKitkat
Poor baby. **GLOWS** that you find out what the problem is and get her better!

Thanks MA and Kit. I called the Naples vet today. They don't have anything open next week to do a biopsy. So I'm making an appointment with vet here in town. But they won't do it until I get a stool sample. Kind of hard when you have to cats. I tried locking Crash in a room for three hours today. She didn't go! It's to cold at night no heat in there, and she cries really loud. Be hard to sleep. So not sure when I'll get a sample.
