He is well over 4' at this point and growing really good. Eats like a hog and is still putting on the size. At this rate he is gonna be a good size Cali king!!
Enjoy

Wow, that is one good sized snake! It makes me excited for when my snake gets that big. Thanx for posting the pic!

Thanks!
Not all snakes have the genes to attain large sizes. Youll just have to be patient and watch yours grow. It has been really neat to be able to watch mine grow, especially the past year! It seems like this last year is when he put on huge amounts of length and girth! And he is still growing.

He was a rescue of sorts, and when I got him he was super skinny. The girl I got him from didnt know anything about snakes. Her boyfriend joined the Marines and she couldnt take care of it. She was only feeding it one hopper every 2-3 weeks!! He was almost 2 years old when I got him, but looked like a yearling.

But after some serious TLC he has really packed it on and looking very good.

Good luck and Happy Herping.

He is quite impressive! How often do you feed him? Did you feed him more when he was younger?

I feed all of my hatchlings 1-2 pinkies every 3 days.

Once they are big enough to take peachies (large pinks just starting to fuzz), I feed them 1-2 every 3 days.

Then hoppers the same, 1-2 every 3 days.

Once they can take small adults, I feed them 1-2 every 6 days, and continue this schedule with large adult mice.

I use this schedule because it simplifies feeding. Hatchlings/juveniles every 3 days, and young adults and up get fed every 6 days.

If a snake does not take a mouse, then it doesnt get fed until the next scheduled feeding.

I also track my feeding dates on an excel spreadsheet for each individual snake. Makes everything easy to track.
