Quentin has been doing a strange thing lately. He will roll over on his back, trying to get Star's attention. She usually ignores him and then when she tries to walk past him, he will lightly slap her. I thought that when a cat shows off their belly they're being submissive. Yet Quentin will boss Star around and be the dominant one in other ways such as nipping her slightly (nothing serious), trying to steal her food and chasing her away to take her sleeping area. I haven't figured out what he's trying to do when he rolls over like that, staring at Star.Here is a photo of that behavior. Any ideas on what might be going on?

P.S. I don't know why part of the photo is pink; he's really not that color. LOL

Mine will do that when they are inviting another one to play with them. The other one usually jumps on them and they tussle and roll and play fight. Perhaps he wants her to play and when she doesn't but tries to walk off, he pops her one trying to entice her.

My Chessie will occasionally do the same thing when I walk past where his is laying on the floor.
