Indoor Cat becoming Outdoor?

goldilocks Oct 16, 2007 08:37 AM

I have a friends two year old, male, nuetered, vaccinated, cat with his claws.

The cat can no longer live me with and I don't know what to do with him.

I have a farm that he can live at, in the barn, where he will be given food and regularly see humans. However, I am concerned he will not be able to survive outside. He was found outside in november when he was 6 weeks old and has been an inside cat ever since.

Is he young enough to adapt to the outdoor?

Hi,

I think it would be very unfair to this cat to force him to live outdoors after being an indoor cat. It would be far better to find him a new indoor-only home, or find a rescue willing to take him in.

That would be very hard on the cat. He doesn't know what to do outside or what to be afraid of. He doesn't know anything about cars, or strange cats. Not to mention other animals. He would not understand and would probably be terrified. It is easier to make an outside cat live indoors than the other way around. It would be best to find him a home where he can be indoors or take him to a rescue or shelter.
