New Hiding Place

teganslaw Nov 04, 2007 09:33 AM

Star's favorite upstairs closet is no longer available to her, so we had to improvise. We closed off the upstairs for winter to save on heating costs, and wondered how Star would react without her closet space. My husband brought out he collapsible tunnel (the one both cats had previously ignored) and put Star's plush mat inside the tunnel. This is the same mat Star had in the closet. It worked! Star has been going inside the tunnel! This has become her new hiding place now. I think having her mat inside the tunnel had something to do with her using it. That, and having a place to get away from Quentin! LOL. I'm glad that I didn't give the tunnel away.
Quentin is OK with the upstairs being closed off. He has his own mat in the corner and likes laying on the living room chair. So both cats have adjusted to the smaller space.
In spring we'll probably reopen the upstairs again. This is just temporary.

Good news she adapted to her new hiding place so quickly -- quick thinking on using her favorite mat...
