Mouse food

animalmaniac May 28, 2003 06:44 AM

Hi everyone,
I am trying to breed some mice to feed to my ball python and to supply a few friends with pinkies. At the pet store yesterday I got some gerbil/hamster food (at $1.09 per lb) and was wanting to make sure that you all recommend a 1/2 rodent food 1/2 dog food mix for breeder mice. Also, I live on a farm where we have two big hounds, so we get the big 50lb dog food, so should I break up the kibbles some or just let them chew on it?
Thanks,
Taylor

Sure mice can eat the dog kibble. Just don't feed them something with red dyes in it....which isn't great for the dogs either. Just let them munch it, don't bother to break it up.
