What is a "micro" cat?

crystalawoods Jan 16, 2009 10:39 AM

Hi,

I am getting a new cat, and it is called a "grey micro tabby". What does that mean?

Does it mean that she's smaller than most cats? I haven't seen her, we are adopting her from a family that have children who developed an allergy to cats.

Thanks!

Hi There,

As far as I know, there is no such thing as a "micro" cat. I am wondering, however, if this cat is actually a mackeral tabby, which would mean that she has thin stripes as opposed to a classic tabby, which has kind of a "bullseye" pattern on the sides. All tabbies have an "M" mark on their foreheads.

When you get this kitty, please post a picture so we can see what she looks like. Grey tabbies are one of my very favorite cats.

Take care,
PHKitkat

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. She isn't a mackerel tabby, we have her now, and she doesn't look like I expected at all, lol She has no tabby markings, so she could be a ticked tabby, but she looks like she might have some Chartreux in her too! She has really short stubby little legs, and a long body, she's cute. Sorry the pic is blurry! She's quick!

She is beautiful. She might be a Munchkin with short legs but I have never seen one in person or furson

Hi There,

Thanks for posting the pic.........your new baby is gorgeous!

I've always had a thing for grey cats of all types, and I have 4 in my feline family.
