Question about Comfort Zone plug-ins

ellasmommie Dec 19, 2003 02:03 AM

We have two rather rambunctious 7 month old kittens who have been tearing around the house like a couple lunatics. It wouldn't be a problem but they have knocked over the Xmas tree twice now along with tossing things off counter tops and tables. I'd like to try the Comfort Zone plug-ins. but I'm sort of concerned about our older cat. He is 24 years old and I certainly don't want to slow him down and have him "act his age" you know? Would the plug-ins effect him too much? Or do they work subtly enough to not effect him too much?

Hi. I have two 7 month old kittens that I introduced to my 11.5 year old. We used plug ins for three months and they didn't have any side effects any of my cats. The older one just occasionally tried to rub on the plug ins. We also use the spray for the crate/vet trips and it works well. You might want to call the manufacturers, but I love these plug ins. they didn't even have an effect on our asthma-we'd use them again in a minute, in fact we're moving in february and will use them then. Take care and good luck,

The Comfort Zone plug-ins are not really "tranquilizers" as much as a fake phemone that mimics the happy scent cats leave behind when they "mark" something with their cheeks. Cats will calm down because they associate the smell with being calm. It doesn't affect them in any other way and so shouldn't "over tranquilize" your senior cat.
