Four Cats (2 are strays)

jsrobinson Jan 08, 2004 01:28 PM

We have a 15-year old female siamese; a 10 month old male tabby; an adopted 2-year old male short-hair stray; and a wild 5-year old male tabby stray.

The two male strays stay outside most of the time (we have a built in cat door so they can come and go). They do not like each other. Our female likes the stray tabby and not the stray short-hair. The stray short-hair aggresively hunts her, the kitten, and the stray tabby.

He has taken up residence in the living room and will not let anyone other cat into the room. He hunts the other cats down in other rooms. But he is very loving to humans.

All are neutered and have had their shots. What to do? It is so cold outside (Philadelphia, PA)---should I put him in the garage? Would Comfort Zone help?

Try the comfort zone plugs in first. There is also a comfort zone spray. If that doesn't help maybe you can put him in a seperate room for a while.

You may need to keep the short-haired guy in a separate room and gradually re-introduce him.

You could also talk to the vet about some form of anti-anxiety drug for the male which might help with the aggressiveness.

Smile, it will make them wonder what you are up to!

Hi Jamie ~ Thank you for your repsonse. Could you tell me alittle about this Comfort Zone product? Where do I purchase it? Is it a presccription from my vet? I try to keep the short-hair in his own room, but this is getting to be very tricky ..trying to juggle the whereabouts of all four cats so he does not interfere with the other three..!
