Traveling and will be gone about a week or two. Will Cat at home be fine?

foryouonly Jul 26, 2004 11:04 AM

I know that cats are independent creatures but I cant help but seem to worry about her. This week I was away for two days because we were planning on going on the trip so we rented a car but it turns out we had to send the car back due to unresolved problems. Now we are thinking about flying. And as much as I want to bring Lily with I am concerned about living her with all the luggage in the plane which will make me even worry even more. I have been thinking about putting her in one of those pet kennel things while we are away but I can't seem to afford it. I have my sister and my friend check on her everyday so will she be ok? I even cried right before I left I know I am a major worry-wart. But since Lily is attached to me more than anyone in my family, will she be depressed if I am gone that long?

She will be ok as long as your sister and friend are able to make it over. Make sure they are scooping her box, giving her fresh water, and food.
Enjoy your vacation.

She should be OK with someone coming over daily to check on her. Be sure that they take some time to pet her and talk to her. Sometimes its helpful to have the caregivers give a special tidbit that the cat really enjoys.
