Up all night, and destroying everything.... HELP!!!!

DancingBunny18 Oct 16, 2004 04:19 PM

Hello,
I need some help with my two kittens. One is about 5 months and then other is about 3 months. Anyways I dont know what do with them any more, they never sleep when I do, and they destroy everything. They run around, knocking things over, they ripped down my shower curtain, and tore it to shreds, they ate the power cord to my stereo as well as the speaker wires, they ate the antena to my clock radio, they can open cupboards(ripe open chips and boxes of cereal, and thats just a potion of it. I have tried to lock them up at night, but they still destroy everything in that room. My grandma lent me her large dog crate, i put them and their litter box in it last night, and they pooped everywhere but the little box.. (there was still a lot of room) I am just at the end of rope, with them... anything would be greatly appreciated.

Oh my! Actually they are pretty much being normal kittens! Most kitten problems do go away after a few months.

Be sure that you are playing with them and really exhausting them before you go to bed. Putting them in the cage is probably a good idea, although you will probably have to set up some way to deal with the poop.

Try some Feliway or a Comfort Zone plug-in with Feliway. Also if they need to be neutered or spayed, now is the time.

Good luck! Kittens can be trying for sure. I really think things will settle down soon, with a lot of playing from you during the daylight hours.
