Very sudden anger towards EVERYONE

MaxNSammieLuvr Dec 22, 2004 04:35 PM

Hi everyone. I have two 7 month old kittens, brother and sister, we got them when they were 8 weeks old. Max is yellow striped and Sammie is a calico. For the past 2 days, Sammie has been REALLY angry and my whole family can't figure out why. Whenever we try to pick her up, she hisses at us and tries to bite us or kicks and bites us if we do pick her up, she won't come to us when we call her name, and she's just been laying down by herself a lot, she even hisses at her brother when he tries to play with her. We recently had them fixed about a month and a half ago and I was wondering if maybe the neutering might have anything to do with it? If not, what's going on? We want our sweet little girl back LoL Thanks.

You first should take her to the vet to rule out anything medical. Cats show pain/sickness in different ways. If all is clear there, she may have been traumatized by something you didn't see and is reacting by aggression and withdrawal. She may just need reassurance that everything is OK. Trying wrapping her in a soft balnket while talking softely to her and reassuring her. (the balnket will feel soft and will keep you from getting scratched). I'm sure someone else on the forum can add a lot more input to help you out...

I think Asti has given you some excellent advice. First a medical exam is in order. Then if it seems to be behavoiral, try isolating the two and re-introducing them.

Also try getting a Comfort Zone plug-in with Feliway. This can help calm a nervous cat, although it is rather pricey!

Smile, it will make them wonder what you are up to!

If you order Feliway plug-ins online through Petco or PetSamrt, you can usually get them at a decent price and sometimes get free shipping.
