Moonpie asked:
How is the temperment of your Okeetee? I just got a baby from Kathy Love a few weeks ago, and he is a devil so far (biting and rattling). Did you have this problem? If so, has your snake grown out of it yet? Are you from Tennessee? I'm from the Nashville area. Give me a holler sometime. Be good.

Sorry I missed your post.
Lets see....The three hatchling okeetees pictured are a little hyper but not nippy and they haven't musked or tried to bite.
The extent of their handling before comming to me was.. picked up out of their enclosure, placed in a box and shipped to me.
So, they are actuall pretty calm considering.
My yearling Okeetee, Doc has always been just as calm as ever.
He was the first hatchling my wife would handle. She felt they were too nervous and twitchy. But not Doc, she liked him because he was always so calm. Before that she would only handle my female creamsicle who was a little over a year old at that time.
Don't worry about the aggresiveness of your little guy. Just keep handling it on a regular basis and it will begin to calm down. It will calm down long before it gets large enough to do any damage if it bites.
I live in the Chattanooga area.

Thanks for the reply. I talked to some people a while back from Murfreesboro, and they mentioned that you had some Okeetees. I have a male baby Okeetee from Kathy Love, and a female baby Okeetee from a local store. The female is very tame compared to the male. I talked to the people at the store yesterday, and they said the male is probably suffering from "little man" syndrome, and that he would calm down as he grew. I have seen your site, and I like it a lot. I am working on one of my own, and I will let you know if I get it working. Be good.
