This is about as affectionate as my Molly gets now. I feel sad about how much her temperament has changed over the past several months - no doubt as a result of having another kitty in the house. Molly and Ziggy seem to really get along - and she loves it when Ziggy lets her groom him. But Ziggy is now, by far, the lovey dovey one. I do miss how Molly used to jump up on my lap and fall asleep though. She still lets me give her scrunch pets around the head and under her neck - and always rubs around my legs as soon as I get home. But now I can't seem to get her to let me hold her for more that a few minutes. Oh well...times change I guess.

Yup, some cats do change their habits. My oldest used to be the such a lap cat. But then about 5 yrs ago, she decided that laps were not comfortable enough I guess. She come sover and begs for attention and will sleep up against me, but she won't stay on my lap for more than a second anymore. Oh well, gotta love them.

Just like people, some cats enjoy being picked up and cuddled when young, but prefer to do it on their own terms in adulthood. Although Molly's methods have changed, it sounds as if she's still showing you quite a bit of affection. When she rubs against your legs, she's marking you as her own. And she certainly appears to be enjoying those headrubs! Give her an extra one from me today.
