Advise for moving away from my kitty

RLehto Jul 25, 2005 07:39 PM

In about a month I will be getting married and moving into a "no kitty zone", leaving my baby, Murgatroyd, at my parents house. He has three "brothers" that he gets along with here and four other humans to love him, but he is very much my baby. I do work 40 hours a week and go out and do things, so it's not as gigantic a shift as it could be. I am not moving too far away and will visit often, but my stuff and I will be leaving. My bed and its me smelling bedding will be staying for a while which I hope will help, but I was hopeing for any other tips you all could offer to help ease the transition.

Thanks much!
Raina

Murgatroyd will probably do OK, although he'll miss you. It sounds like he is pretty comfortable in his territory and if you come visit frequently this would help. Cats are generally more attached to place than most other animals, so he won't have anything new to cope with. And you do mention that you are gone a lot anyway. Do be sure to bring him a special treat when you do come see him!
