bonding with new bengal

lacie143 Aug 17, 2005 02:18 PM

I've had my bengal for three days now and i'm just wondering when i should see him take some intrest in me. He plays with my chihuahua, jessie most of the day, and if i play with him with my feather teaser he'll play, but thats about the most interaction i get. He tends to hide when i walk by. Its usually easy to catch him and he doesnt bite or scratch or struggle, but he has no intrest in humans. I'm not expecting much yet... i've never had a cat though and i'm just getting nervous that he'll never come around.

You may have hit the nail on the head - naturally he would recognize the dog as another animal to play with (remember he is still young) but didn't quite see you as part of the mix. I don't know why the vet visit was the trigger, but he obviously has decided that you are someone to bond with!
