This is kind of a silly question but...

When my cat purrs..does it mean that she "loves" me or just that she wants something in return?

I've heard other people's remarks about how cats are questionable with being social animals.

I've had her since she was 6 months old, and I believe she is the only one who trusts me out of my family.

Purring is usually a sign of contentment in a cat.

I have heard that cats purr at a pitch that is supposed to promote healing. This may be why cats who are in pain purr.

Sometimes cats purr when afraid or upset in an attempt to calm themselves. It is usually easy to tell the difference between totally calm relaxed happiness & upset though.
