JuliaP Jun 09, 2003 01:48 PM

Hi I have just bought a 6 month old spayed female yesterday and she is very friensly with us (purrs and cuddles a lot) but she is always hiding in the house. She has already used the litter box 3 times but I have never seen her eat yet... that is what woories me, how long will it be before she starts eating??? I offer her only dry food since that is what the lady at the tore was giving her. Should I give her more time (its her 2nd day here) or should I try other foods and treats or what??

Are you feeding the kitten exactly what she ate before? If not try to find out, then you could gradually switch over to whatever you want to feed her. She is probably still scared, but if the problem has not resolved by Tuesday June 10, then give your vet a call and ask for advice. I do know that it can be dangerous for cats to go for several days without food.

Good luck with your new baby. It sounds like she will work out just fine - she's just a little scared!

Well she ate most of her food this morning so I am happy, I am giving her the same brand of kitten food as in the store.
She was out more too this morning and I think she is finally settling in! Yay, I love cats! lol, she is so cool!
