Im wondering what the average litter size is for boas. Thinking of getting in to the boa world heavy, and would like to know what to expect.

That is a pretty vague question. Their is a large variation in different kinds of boa litters. What kind of boas were you thinking about getting and breeding? I suggest that you keep them for at least a few years before you attempt breeding them, but that is just my opinion.

You never experience life until you have kids..then you realize what you should have done rather then what you did do
On the low end anway!*lol* last year I had a female only deliver 3 viable...this year one little lady only gave me ONE!...you're right but,I'd have to say "one to sixty"
(anybody else ever hear of just having one baby? it may be a "minimalist" record!!!hehe)

EVOLVE,OR,DIE...it's not just a good idea...it's the LAW!
I cannot beat that but what is the % of still born or babies that dont make it through birth. My females first litter was 100% healthy babies. Also do some babies make it a few days or a few weeks and then parish or is there a time frame when you know their going to make it?

That survived birth,(and, the first say,24 hrs.)that later died, but,I do hear of this happening occasionally, often(usually?) due to either some type of internal malformation,or,sometimes a hemorage,or,secondary infection of the umbilical area. this is from my personal experience, and,I'm no "big-time" breeder,so I couldn't say, percentage wise,or,statisticlly?(I may've just been lucky so far?)I have had some malformed animals in the past that I opted to "put down",because I think it's the responsibility of every breeder to do so...but,thankfully very few of those!(it's my least favorite part of breeding!)

The most I have heard of was a whopping 68 neos..this was only what I was told...not what I have visually seen..( visually seen was a litter of 25 or 27, can't remember exactly) Later all, Randy T.
