ok here is the deal....I have gotten my sisters cat because of moving reasons, anyways my rottweiler x has been brought up with one cat since she was eight weeks old and we unfortunatly lost him 2 years ago due to kidney failure and have now gotten this Himalayan from my sister....ok well my dog is a girl and i need to make the cat and dog get to know each other and become friends but the dog is scared of getting in trouble if dhe goes near the cat and so therefore wont go near him even if i say she can and then the cat wont go near the dog because at my sisters he lived with a pug and now she has a massive difference living with a dog the size of a german shepherd....does any one have a solution? thanks in advance

You need to keep both animals in separate rooms and just let them sniff each other under the door for a few days. If you can get a baby gate and put the dog in a room and let the cat see the dog through the gate, that's even better. You can let them "get aquainted" further by putting the dog on a leash and letting them be in the same room together.

Here are some links to webpages that can help you further:

Good luck! I hope you succeed!
