Hi My sphynx cat is 1 1/2 yrs old and I have had her for 2 weeks. I walked into the house where I found her peeing on my carpet in front of the dryer. I did not do anything cause I didn't know what she was doing at first. Then she flips over the corner of the carpet to hide the pee. We had been doing some squirt bottle training right before then because she was jumping on the counters and kitchen table with food. All litter boxes were relatively clean (i have one on each level of the house) The only other accident she had was in our bedroom the second night but I think she was just a bit freaked out. I did find a small urine spot on my dogs bed but I figured the dog leaked some urine. I also found a spot on the couch that I could not confirm as pee of any kind but now I wonder. When I clean the boxes she has tons of tinkle in there so I know she is using the boxes. Do cats mark with urine? Was she mad at us for squirting her? What's with the attitude anyway?

I would let the vet check your kitty for a urinary tract infection first as this is the number 1 cause for inappropriate urination with cats. It's possibly stress induced, but it's best to have the vet check her first. If a medical reason is ruled out, you can then proceed to work on the behavorial aspect. You need to clean all those urine psots thoroughly with detergent and water and then after that dried, apply an enzymatic cleaner like Nature's Miracle to get rid of all odors.
