When I got my beardie I shelled out a few extra bucks and got the zoomed repti halogen bulb. It lasted 2 days and died. Went out the same day and bought another one figuring just a defective bulb and I would get replaced with their warranty. Anyway, the second one just went. It's maybe 2 months old, just a fraction into the 1 year warranty.

I want to get the T-rex because I see the results on veronicag's website and I won't buy another zoomed bulb. I've had $5 bulbs last longer.

I've used just regular halogen bulbs from GE from the local hardware store and will never go back to incandescents of course if they find that they are better for herps. Sometimes just the cheap lightingt found in home depot and harware stores like that just seem to be built better. I've now been using a GE 75 watt bulb now for 7 months with no decrease in temps and not so much as a flicker, maybe this brand will work better for you then the halogens meant for reptiles by zoomed

I've used there halogen bulbs for my iguana's and now with my beardie and I have never so much as ran into a problem...I had one bulb close to 8 months before it blew out...only decreased temps a few days before it went out....I also have used SYLVANIA halogens from home depot and had them blow out a week later...I think it's cooincidence, but when it's your hard earned $$$ I understand where your coming from!!!!!
