Any helpful info please> MY older cat has stopped using the litter box...

I have 3 cats. The oldest be 12 years old has stopped using the litter box.She will pee on any carpet and basically any thing on the floor. She will pooped right in front of the bath tub...Which is a tile floor. She will only pee on fabric.. Very rarley will she go on a bare floor. THis all started about 7 months ago.Up till that point she was fine. She seems very heathly so i am not sure if i should take her to the vet.... Any help thanks
