I have yet to find a kitty litter that isnt going to break the bank and is easy to clean daily and masks the smell. Ive found some that mask the smell but are impossible to clean, and some that are easy to clean but dont mask the smell. ANY SUGGESTIONS??

Of all the litter types I've tried, my favorite is Scoop Away. It clumps hard, keeps smells down, is reasonably priced, and they track the least amount of it outside the litter box.

Reference smell -- No matter what I've tried, I have to scoop at least once a day. I usually scoop in the morning and in the evening... If you don't scoop at least once a day, I don't think anything will keep smell down...

I've been using Fresh Step for years now. Purr-sonally wouldn't use anything else. It clumps well so the piddle balls are easy to scoop out. Also with Fresh Step they have the paw points program. They have all kinds of things you can redem your points for once you've collected enough including coupons for free litter. Good luck in choosing a litter that's right for you!

I think I'm paying 6.48 for 50 lbs. of tidy cat multi cat clay litter (Sam's Club) which I mix with no name brand crystals bought at Target for 11.99 for 8 lbs. About every 6-8 weeks the crystals go on sale for 9.99

However Kroger recently yellow tagged their no name brand cystals to 3.99 for 4 lbs, a $1 - $3 savings compared to the same amount bought at Target.

This has been the best smell killer/wallet saver combo for our house of three cats. But there is no letting the weekly cat box washing slide for a couple of extra days.

If you already have a favorite litter, check the price every where you go. Its sometimes surprising what you can find cheap in even the "expensive" stores!

Not much can mask the smell. I have found though that when using a good clumping litter for multiple cats, having more than one box, and using an extra 2-3 inches of litter than normal helps.
