crying and socks

Patches my bf's mother cat is so weird. She goes and stills socks form the laundry room then carries them upstairs crying the whole time. It is the strangest thing. The other cats look at her like she is crazy. And of course all of our socks are missing their mates.

LOL. One of my male cats does that with a certain furry keychain. He will carry that thing around and wail the whole time. Hubby says he does it the minute I leave the house, so maybe with him it;s a seperation anxiety quirk. Funny to watch tough.

This might be a separation axiety issue. Sort of like when a child hugs a teddy bear for comfort.

Smile, it will make them wonder what you are up to!

One of our clinic cats did this with a particular furry mouse toy. She'd carry it from the breakroom to the vet's office and back and again, yowling the whole time. She LOVED it. It sounded muffled from her mouthful of mouse. our exam rooms were right there, and she wasn't quiet and shy about her pastime, so we were constantly reassuring clients that, no, that noise wasn't some poor kitty recovering from an injury, that was just Julia enjoying herself.

Patches drags the socks around in the middle of the night. and Friday night was the first time I heard her do it while we were still up. It is the weirdest thing haha.

Julia always did it between 1:00 and 3:00 PM. Usually surgery time.
