Kitty Fetch

brenalm Nov 25, 2003 11:45 AM

I have not been on in awhile, but I am today and while responding to a few messages (comments really) - I wanted to make sure I piped in a message about a funny thing my little kitty Ziggy does. Maybe other have experienced this...
Ziggy, 7 mos old male orange tiger (I also have a 1+yr old female) plays fetch! It happens mostly when its bed time. Of course, my bed time isn't necessarily his. So Zig grabs one of his favorite stuffed mice and jumps up on the bed with it in his mouth making a low growling noise. Then he drops it and looks at me. I then take the little toy and throw it. He jumps off the bed, gets it back in his mouth, and leaps back on the bed to start the process over again. Very funny! It lasts as long as either of us gets bored (or tired). Ziggy also plays soccer with his little bell ball. Its a tiny plastic ball with bells in it. He'll roll it along the kitchen floor and swat it with his paw aiming right at my foot. I kick the ball and he runs for it and swats it back. He's so funny like this. Molly, my female kitty is so sweet - but much less interactive. She likes to play with toys sometimes - but prefers to roll around and play with Ziggy the best.

My cat Daisy played fetch of a sort - you'd throw one of those coated pony tail holders and she'd bring it back and drop it at your feet. Then she'd either get tired or bored after about 3 times and would go get it, pick it up in her mouth, then drop it right where it was and look at you like, "Well, come GET it".

Smile, it will make them wonder what you are up to!

Tigger used to love to play catch when she was an only cat in the house. She could play all night long if given the chance. She would never think of playing now. She is too busy watching to see if another cat has come in the room.

Do you have an updated picture of Ziggy? I want to see if he and Gabby still look alike.
Here is one of Gabby taken in October.

Hi -
I've been so busy lately, I barely have time to check in here...but wanted to let you know that I will have some updated pictures soon. Zig is still a little guy...very long and narrow. His coat is getting a deeper orange now and his face is still so very cute! Just love him.

I read this message after I read the water message and forgot I had already ask the question about pictures. Sorry for asking again. Hope you have a great Holiday season.
