Leo outrage!!!

ReptileMatt Oct 13, 2003 08:16 PM

I brought my leo to the vet tonight due to the fact that she wasn't eating. The vet gave me some antiobiotics to give her daily. I gave her the first dose tonight and she died 1/2 hour later. Has anyone out there had this happen to them? What do you think the chances are for me getting my money back? The visit and medicine cost me $61.00. I feel horrible...they killed my little girl!!!!!

I doubt you will get your money back. The reason being that you have no proof that your leo died from the antibiotics and not the reason you brought it to the vet in the first place. You could try to get your money back, but I dont think you will get it.

I'm so sorry for you. That really sucks! Did the vet indicate that she was close to dying? How thin was she? Do you think she was allergic to the meds or just "too far along"? I spent $150 & three weeks of intense care on one of my first leos, & she died anyway. I feel your pain.

Thanks for your concern. I spoke to the vet this morning and although he has never seen this happen before, he's assuming that my leo was allergic to the medicine. She wasn't close to dying, just slightly underweight. He agreed to refund the cost of the office visit, which is much more than I was expecting. I still regret taking her because unfortunately she had a much more painful death than she deserved. She will be greatly missed!

He prescribed Baytril 22.7% to give 2 or 3 drops for 2 weeks. My little girl didn't last past the first dose.
