MALE CAT HUMPS MY MALE CAT

kikoman Jul 28, 2004 07:10 PM

My boyfriend and I are catsitting his mom's cat while she's away on a trip. Well today was the day she brought him over, and he goes up to our cat (male), bites him on the back of the neck. And humps him I'm pretty sure. And my cat doesn't seem too happy about that. Is male cat humping common? I know male dogs will hump for dominance. But do cats do this too? Or what could it be?

You are looking at a definite male-dominance issue. Cats are like dogs in this respect. Probably the best thing to do is to try to keep the boys separated, although actually they have worked things out even though your cat is not happy with the situation. If there is no reason for the guys to get together again, then I wouldn't press the issue.
