My legs are giant walking scratching posts

foryouonly Oct 29, 2004 08:46 PM

Every morning my cat hides under my bed shirt and when she sees my legs hit the floor she launches and lunges at my legs. like they are moving and live sratching posts. I shave my legs often i dont know what her problem is. Sometimes when i get home from work she greets me with a meow and "come with me look" as we walk she also thinks im "london bridges falling down" and trys to walk between my legs. she's only 2 mos and sometimes its hard to carry groceries in when she behaves this way please help, soon i will have a squashed kitty or a broken neck. which ever comes first.

Sounds like you she wants to play. Before you get up in the morning play with her. I would wake up ten minutes earlier. Get one of those feather on a string and play with her before you get out of bed. This way she won't attack your legs when you get up. Young kittens love to play. When there isn't another cat to play with they pick us as their playmates. Or if the other cat is a lot older and won't have anything to do with them, then the kitten will pick us as the playmate.

She's still young and wants to play. You need to divert her play away from your legs in the morning. Tell her no and push her away towards a toy and then play with the toy and her. FOr you safety and the kitty's, when you are carrying in things, come in first, pet her, then close her in a room until you through. SHe will eventually get big enough that you won't have to worry so much, but my cats still get in my way! LOL! It's their nature I think! Ha Ha!
